Local Cryostimulation involves the exposure of low temperatures (-120°C to -160°C) to a specific region of the body for a period of up to 15 minutes per area. Optimum treatment temperature for maximum cryostimulation is currently perceived to be -135°C.
The skin is cooled by liquid nitrogen vapour to provoke vasoconstriction of the skin vessels, which is then followed by rapid vasodilation. Cryostimulation activates the body’s natural defences and that is why it is totally safe. During the short session only the skin is cooled superficially and the body responds by increasing the internal temperature of the treatment area.
Cryostimulation is systematic and addresses multiple issues at the same time, which means that the body starts healing processes at the same time on several levels. Cryostimulation is often used for pain relief, and this effect can last for several hours.

The skin is cooled by streams of liquid nitrogen vapour to provoke the vasoconstriction of skin vessels. Due to thermoreceptors on the treatment area sending messages to the brain to protect the body from the extreme cold temperatures being sensed on the skin.
Once the treatment is over, the thermoreceptors no longer sense this danger and blood rushes back to the treatment area at a much higher rate. Cryostimulation activates the body’s natural defences and that is why it is totally safe. During the short session only the skin is cooled, the body’s core temperature remains the same.

The Cryofacial is a cryogenic treatment developed by American Doctor J. Kuehne, in which a controlled stream of vaporised liquid nitrogen is used to cool the skin of the face and neck area.
The scalp and neck area are included in the facial treatment, to maximize stimulation. The treatment uses pressurized liquid nitrogen vapours (-80°C to -150°C), which are applied to the face and neck in order to stimulate the production of collagen and decrease pore size. The skin becomes tighter, more even-toned, and blood circulation is improved. Over time, skin is more elastic due to the increase in the production of collagen.
Cryostimulation causes rapid vasoconstriction and then the stable dilation of blood vessels and lymphatic capillaries, which enhances the nutrition of the skin and activates metabolic processes. An additional benefit of improved skin nutrition is increased penetrability of cell membranes.

Cryostimulation makes most beauty treatments more effective (facial masks, body wraps, injections, peels, and microdermabrasion).
An additional advantage of Cryotherapeutic treatments is their pronounced analgesic effect, as well as their ability to relieve unwanted side effects such as inflammation and oedema, which concerns surgical and thermal treatments in the first place.
A course of cryostimulation treatments also produces extended effects: it improves skin tone, blood supply and nutrition, promotes rejuvenation of aged skin and improves the state of problem skin.
The treatment makes use of the body’s natural response to cold temperatures. The extreme cold triggers blood vessels to constrict in the tissues, blood flow slows down and metabolism is reduced. Post treatment, the blood capillaries open up and allow four times the normal flow of oxygenated blood through the body – a process, which accelerates the revitalisation of skin and muscles. Endorphins and anti-inflammatory substances start circulating more actively. Triggers the production of collagen.
Evidence also shows that having regular sessions can increase the level of antioxidants in the body. outer skin is cooled to approximately 0-5°C, activating increased production of collagen in the deeper layers of the skin. The skin regains elasticity and becomes smoother and even-toned, significantly improving conditions such as cellulite and skin ageing.
Cryostimulation has also proved to be efficient in complex body shaping along with the anti-cellulite program. The extreme cold temperatures used to achieve cryostimulation trigger the body to create the necessary temperature inside the body (an increase of 1°C to 1.5°C).
The body uses sugars, fats and proteins as an energy source to increase the body temperature. Once the treatment is over and blood vessels dilate, the subsequent rush of blood flow increases metabolic processes meaning that the body breaks down larger molecules much faster. Increased oxygenated blood flow gives the body more power, increases the revitalization of skin, organs and muscles, provides a rush of hormones and nutrients, relaxes muscles and transports negative substances away from the superficial layer. When exposed to extreme cold temperatures the body burns energy in order to change the internal temperature of the body, drive the increased blood flow around the body and support increased metabolic processes. For this reason cryostimulation supports weight loss and cellulite reduction.

Cryostimulation helps to fight the underlying causes of skin problems and their development by regulating and normalizing growth of skin cells.
Cryostimulation has an anti-inflammatory effect: One of the most popular cryo treatment benefits that has been observed across numerous types of health issues, is the reduction in recurrence of inflammation. Cryostimulation helps to soothe skin redness for those with acne problems, and repress inflammatory symptoms of inflammatory diseases, including eczema, dermatitis, and psoriasis. Regular treatment sessions will help halt the autoimmune process of excessive cell growth in the skin with no side effects.
